Any info on "Real Estate Locator's" or a company called "The Real Estate Arena"?
I'm a real estate agent in NY and yes, I've heard of them. What they do is this . . . they build a network of real estate agents in various areas who pay them a monthly fee, so when someone comes along looking for real estate, they blast it out to their network of agents and the the real estate agent who answers first (for some, it's the first 5 agets to respond) gets this person as a lead....

buying a pub to live in?
Let me ask a questions to clarify......Are you buying the real estate or are you buying the real estate and the business (along with all the permits etc... to run the business). You could buy the building and rent the pub space to the owner of the pub. Do you want to be in the pub business or the commerical real estate business or both?...

Real estate is land and permanent improvements to it, such as a house. Everything else is personal property....

I am not a real estate agent, but my mom is, so here is my two cents. Just because the market is slow right now does not mean that you won't do well as a real estate agent. People are still moving by the hundreds in your area every day I'm sure. If you really want to be a real estate agent, I would work hard at establishing your client base right now. Advertise yourself, and be a good real estate agent (honest, flexible, AVAILABLE, etc.). GOOD real estate agents are hard to find! Hope this helps...
